Part of our board attended the August 19 (2026) Cumming City Council meeting to speak in favor of a resolution to allow St. Vincent De Paul of Georgia to apply for an initial grant to help fund their proposal for a 12-acre supportive housing community in Cumming. Designed for adults experiencing housing insecurity, especially Veterans and seniors, the project would provide more than a safe, affordable place to live; it would provide stability, belonging, and a path forward. The meeting was a full house and many spoke in favor, including Cindy Mills (former commissioner) and our Board president Joan Welty. The resolution passed unanimously, so watch for more information as the project progresses!
